Here is a picture of the building I work in.. the office of admissions, registrar and financial aid are in this building.. so I guess you could say it's pretty important.. haha.
Before school started this week, wanted to go to the beach for out last trip of the summer. Too bad mother nature had different plans for us..
We were pretty bummed because we had planned to go with a few other couples in the ward, but we still hung out and had a great day. We started off the day with lunch, played arcade games after, went bowling, and then finished it off with racquet ball. Me and Cody love games, and are VERY competitive, so it was a perfect day for us. haha. We love all of the great friends we have made here in Hattiesburg. They have made us feel so welcome and we always have a good time!!
I also took care of "decorating" (if you can even call it that) Cody's office a few weeks ago. Basically I just printed off a few pictures and pinned them around his whiteboard. That's all the creativity I've got these days! haha. He's happy with it so that's all that matters. Dr. Piland (a professor in Cody's department) helped him get his computer set up and everything else that he needed for the admin side of things. I just sat and watched Philly boy screw up his chances in the PGA championship while they were setting things up... so you could say I could have been happier..
I don't know if Cody knew I was taking this picture? But he looks pretty legit, right??
Cody was invited to join a fantasy football league with a few other guys in our ward. He spent all Saturday night scoping out his prospects and forming a spreadsheet to make sure he could have the best team possible before the draft. The big draft was Sunday night at The Pastry Garden. It's a restaurant that family in our ward owns, so he opened it for the draft Sunday night and made us some nachos. We had a great time! I'm not sure Cody got the exact team he wanted, but I think he'll be competitive. He drafted Collin Kaepernick as his QB because he loves the niners. I'm not sure if his bias will come back to bite him in the butt.. but we'll see!
As you can see he was very focused...
Well, Cody will start school on Thursday and I work Monday-Friday 8-5 so I'll be keeping busy. I was just recently called as the primary chorister at church, and I'm loving it! This past Sunday was my first week and it went really well. The kids are so sweet and I love listening to them sing! I don't know anyone who can watch primary kids sing and not smile! I'm trying to come up with creative things to do with them... so if anyone reading this has any good ideas.. EMAIL ME!
All in all we are doing really well and are still enjoying ourselves. Cody is starting to beat me at tennis... I don't know how that is happening.. but I assure you it will not last long! Hopefully next time I write, I'll be back on top of our tennis competition.
It's so great that you are making friends, of course you would, but you know how parents worry. How is that restaurant. That is the one I wanted to go to when we were there. For sure the next time we visit. Wedding is over, can't say how glad I am. That was madness. Girls have started school, we are up to our ears in volleyball and cheer for the time being. In a few months it will be girls basketball and cheer. Congrats on your calling! The perfect place for you. I have been the primary chorister and it was such a fun calling. All my ideas are old school though. But we did play a game about rhythm. Snapping fingers or clapping and slapping legs with the correct rhythm while singing songs. The kids loved it. We miss you and love you tons.
